Port safety

Zero-Compromise Safety Standards

Every IMETC stevedoring operation is governed by rigorous Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) protocols. Our safety record is exemplary — and we intend to keep it that way.

All stevedoring operations are conducted in compliance with SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea), IMDG Code for dangerous goods, ILO Convention 152 on Occupational Safety in Dockwork, and NPA Port Operations Regulations. Our shore gangs hold valid NPA competency certification.
All lifting gear — hooks, slings, spreader bars — is inspected and certified prior to each operation. Shore cranes and forklifts undergo daily pre-operation checks and annual third-party load testing. We maintain a full equipment register with certification expiry tracking.
Pre-loading condition surveys, careful handling procedures, and use of appropriate dunnage and securing materials minimise cargo damage. Our damage incidence rate is consistently below 0.05% — well below industry average.
MARPOL-compliant operations with proper waste reception, bilge water management, and dust suppression for bulk cargo. Spill response equipment is pre-positioned at all active berths. We have a Zero Spill policy for liquid cargo operations.
